Camp Otyokwah is committed to your child’s well-being. We want campers to have a fun, life-changing experience, but place a high priority on safety.
Staff
Our summer and residential staff are carefully screened through applications, interviews, references, and background checks. Additionally, all staff must also go through Child Abuse Awareness Training.
Program
Our program staff is dedicated to a high level of safety in all activities and is trained in safety procedures for each program area. Lifeguards are certified through the American Red Cross. High ropes facilitators are certified through an ACCT (Association of Challenge Course Technology) accredited trainer.
Facilities
Our facilities and outdoor equipment are tested, maintained, and certified. Each year we are inspected by the Richland County Health Department.
Other
Camp Otyokwah has a Registered Nurse for each week of its youth camps to oversee medical and health needs. Meals served at Otyokwah always includes fruits and vegetables.
